Russell Mawhinney, BA, LLB
Russell is a partner in HM Associates – Property &
Business Law which he established with Mike Holloway in April 2003.
He had previously taken over the practice of Laurian O’Dea in 2002
following some ten years of legal practice in Hamilton and Dunedin.
Outside of the law Russell has experience in the financial
services and sports marketing industries, including international
experience in Hong Kong before his return to New Zealand.

Mike Holloway, LLB, B Com
Mike is a partner in HM Associates
- Property & Business Law. Mike originally established Property
& Business Law as a brand when he set up his practice in Queenstown
in 1996. He has been qualified and working as a lawyer since 1973,
except for 10 years away from legal practice from 1984 to 1994.
Outside of the law he has had considerable experience
in the computing industry, including teaching and some programming.

Sally Cantrell, LLB
Solicitor
Sally has been a practicing Solicitor in New Zealand
for over 20 years, focusing primarily in the areas of property, business/financing
and estate planning. Originally from Christchurch, she relocated to
Queenstown with her family in 2003. Her commercial law experience
is extensive, and she has a particular forte in contract and security
negotiations.

Cassie Brunt, LLB Honours
Legal Assistant
Cassie earned her legal degree in England in 1997
and worked for several years in the areas of property and employment
law. She has additional experience in human resources and hospitality
management. Three years ago, she was in the midst of a global travel
adventure when she visited Queenstown, fell in love with the place,
and decided to stay.
Now well settled in Queenstown, Cassie is in the process
of transferring her qualifications and registering in New Zealand
as a Solicitor.

Lani Arnott, LLB
Solicitor
Lani graduated from Otago University and completed
her professional training requirements in 2004. She has returned home
to Queenstown to pursue her legal career with a fresh approach and
plenty of enthusiasm.
Her previous experience includes small business management
and hospitality service. Lani has been a member of the HM Associates
team since 2005.

Ingrid Arnestedt, LLB
Solicitor
Ingrid has returned to Property & Business Law
after working here three summers ago whilst still completing her law
degree. Now having graduated from Otago University she has returned
to her home town to further her legal career. Ingrid has had previous
experience as a volunteer at the Dunedin Community Law Centre and
also in the hospitality industry.

Chris Stewart
Solicitor
After living in Sydney for 14 years Chris returned
to New Zealand in December 2001. Since his return he has been involved
in other interests before coming back to his legal career and very
recently to Property & Business Law. Chris has had vast legal
experience and focuses on property, finance and general commercial
matters at Property & Business Law.

Lana Moore-Carter
Administrative Assistant
Lana started with HM Associates - Property & Business
law early in 2005. Although this is her first position in a law firm,
her previous customer service experience prepared her well for our
busy front-office environment. Along with reception duties, Lana assists
all members of the team with file managment and client relations.

Jacquie Hood
Accountant
Jacquie has been an independent accountant for the
past twelve years and has worked with a myriad of Queenstown's small
and mid-sized companies during that time. She found her way to Queenstown
early in life and although she obtained her Economics Degree from
Otago University, she has always called Queenstown home.
Jacquie manages the trust and firm accounting as well
as performing commercial and conveyancing work.
